Elle Muliarchyk was born in Belarus, grew up in Vietnam and was discovered in a New York café by photographer Patrick Demarcelier. She first came to attention as a model whose guerrilla photos of herself in fashion boutique dressing rooms received worldwide media coverage after an expose of her work appeared in the New York Times magazine. She makes the kind of photos that stick to your mind with a quirky kind of beauty unique to her style.
